Behind The Logo: Guiding Clients Through Uncertainty
In poor weather conditions, pilots fly using Instrument Flight Rules, a method of navigating along carefully arranged routes in the sky. To fly these routes safely, even in zero-visibility conditions, they rely on a combination of navigational technologies such as radar and GPS.
One of the most resilient of these navigational aids is the VORTAC. Unlike GPS, which can be disrupted by satellite outages, signal loss, jamming, or interference, VORTAC stations are ground-based and operate independently, providing reliable navigation information in even the toughest conditions. Although fewer VORTAC stations exist today due to the rise of GPS technology, they remain a rare but powerful backup, trusted by pilots when the weather is bad, visibility is zero, and GPS is unreliable.
At Roadmap Advisors, our logo is inspired by the symbol used to mark VORTAC locations on navigation maps: a hexagon shape surrounded by three rectangles, with a dot in the center. We chose this symbol because it reflects our commitment to guiding clients through the complexities of mergers and acquisitions, providing clear direction and trusted counsel, even in the face of extreme uncertainty, intense pressure, and conflicting guidance.
