Investment Banking Externship Program
We offer a part-time, remote Externship Program designed to give undergraduates meaningful exposure to investment banking and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). The program is 12-weeks long, and is run three times per year (Fall, Spring, and Summer). This program is unpaid and best suited for motivated students who want to build practical experience and strengthen their resumes before pursuing internships or analyst roles after graduation.
What You’ll Gain
The externship is a unique opportunity to get your feet wet in investment banking without prior experience. Through structured trainings, hands-on projects, and direct interaction with our deal team, participants develop an understanding of the M&A process and what it takes to succeed in the industry. By the end of the program, you’ll have gained a foundation in research, analysis, and professional skills that will set you apart when applying for competitive internships and full-time positions.
Program Structure
- Weekly Video Calls & Trainings
You’ll join regular virtual sessions with our M&A professionals, where we cover both technical and professional development topics. Trainings include:- Introduction to the M&A process
- Understanding company financials
- Industry and private equity research methods
- Simple financial modeling (forecasting, combining companies, and introductory LBOs)
- Professional skills workshops (networking, cold emailing, office etiquette, and resume review)
- Hands-On Research Projects
Externs work on small but meaningful projects that mirror real investment banking tasks, such as:- Building and maintaining private equity databases
- Screening companies for sale and potential targets
- Conducting industry research and updating market overviews
- Drafting blog posts and thought-leadership pieces for the firm
- Supporting buy-side list building and pipeline development
- Team Collaboration
You’ll interact directly with our deal professionals, ask questions, and see how a lean, entrepreneurial investment banking team operates. Unlike large banks, we emphasize working smart, collaborating closely, and producing results without unnecessary “face time.”
